Chiropractic Physician
Dr. Matt Sherwood received his chiropractic training and graduated Magna Cum Laude from National University of Health Sciences in 2009. While attending National he became interested in functional rehabilitation and began to receive extra training in this area. He also began taking classes to become a certified Active Release Techniques (ART) practitioner and has been fully certified since 2010.
Since graduation, Dr. Sherwood has continued taking courses on musculoskeletal rehabilitation, most notably Dynamic Muscular Stabilization (DNS), and the McKenzie Method. He enjoys utilizing ART, DNS, and the McKenzie Method, in conjunction with traditional chiropractic care, in the treatment of his patients and finds that this combination leads to the fastest relief of symptoms and prevention of future episodes.
Prior to joining Northwest Indiana Chiropractic Health, Dr. Sherwood spent time treating patients in an integrated chiropractic and physical therapy practice in the Northern suburbs of Chicago as well as a more traditional chiropractic clinic in Northwest Indiana. This exposed him to a wide variety of diagnostic and treatment methods along with affording him the chance to manage patient care with providers from different fields.
When not in the office Dr. Sherwood enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters and working on projects around the house. Having grown up in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago and attending the University of Iowa, he enjoys watching the Bears, Blackhawks, Cubs, and Hawkeye football.
